Add Recipient Preferred Name (or Nickname) for Email bodies

Magnetic Frog
Sometimes people go by nicknames or shortened names. I wish that could populate instead of only Recipient First Name.

I'm almost positive that if you have something in the Preferred Name field that it will use that in your email. If it doesn't see anything there, it defaults back to the Recipient First Name.

Hi all! This was actually updated a while and currently works like this. If you notice any issues with it, please flag to our support team!

Molly, This does work for emails when we use the name variable. But emails sent automatically from Tern, like when payments have been authorized, still go out with legal names. Please update them to match.

Agreed...it is the only way for automation to sound natural....otherwise, it comes off too stiff, especially for repeat guests!!

It would be great if, in Tern, we could search for a contact using their preferred name. For example, if the formal first name is William or Michael, the preferred name for non‑official purposes might be Bill or Mick.
It would also be excellent to have a variable field option when composing emails for the Preferred Name.

I thought I tested this awhile back and it does it already?

Fuzzy Bison It looks like this has been taken care of. I've seen birthday email automation using the client's preferred name.
