Restructure Payment Authorization and History Deletion

Can we please make it where agents can add an installment, change a total (overall, not for a payment that has been authorized), etc. without the history of the payments or current authorizations being deleted? This is creating a lot of extra work for the agents when we have to reenter past payments and re-request authorizations. It also creates doubt in the client's mind when payments disappear and extra work when they need to resubmit.

Ability to adjust actual payment amount as long as it is BELOW the AUTHORIZED amount, and not have the authorization disappear.

Currently, if the ACTUAL payment ends up being less than what I quoted (say the cost decreased by the supplier since the quote) and I run the payment- when I then go in to Tern to make the cost adjustment, the client's authorization goes away. I feel like as long as the payment is equal to or less than the authorized amount, we should be able to make that adjustment and the authorization still be valid. So it would be nice, when we click "Mark As Paid", for another box or line to appear that gives us the ability to add in an adjusted payment amount and a place to notate the reason. And for the authorization to remain effective.

If price changes by certain amounts, do reset the authorization.

If the price goes down at all between the time of authorization and when the agent applies the payment, don’t reset the authorization.
If price goes up by a small amount (maybe 5-7% or something along those lines), don’t reset the authorization.
Add a checkbox to the authorization so client can allow the authorization to still stand if price rises by that particular percent or dollar amount.

Don't change previous authorizations and payments

Don't reset authorizations and payments after price updates; for example, if a price decreases, that should not change any previous payments or authorizations, and should not reset deposits etc. that have already been taken care of.

The worst is when you change it by accident. Then, poof the card is gone. "Sorry customer, I typed a number in the wrong field and now your auth has vanished and I need to bug you again instead of just being able to Ctl+z."
