More visually appealing client app

It would be nice if there was at least a small thumbnail image for each item on the itinerary to make it easier to visually differentiate between the items. Also none of the formatting we put into the itinerary shows up in the app such as highlighting important reminders or changing the colors to make a link stand out. Also videos only show up as a link that says link to video without any idea of what the video is.

UPDATE THE APP
M
Mauve Tuna
PLEASE update the client app. It is too basic. There’s no need for the Day 1 Day 2 etc. add pictures and basic info front facing so client doesn’t have to click to see everything. Please please put effort into this. It’s so important for clients to have an easy accessible app.

There needs to be some more UX/UI implemented. If not I can see this being a major roadblock for me to want to send the app to clients :( please make it more visually appealing and intuitive!

I concur with all of the above points of conflict
The documents that are attached to the itinerary pieces are also not viewable within the app. I use this for all entry tickets for that specific event.
I found myself creating emails to be sent the day before each itinerary event that requires tickets because the app removes the documents.
I then encourage my clients to view the itinerary through the link sent within the email prior to the event to view the documents. This is quite combersome.
Here is a direct quote from my client about the app
" Corrin, I am sorry to say but I do not like the Tern App. I'm becoming increasingly frustrated and nervous about our big trip. I was so hoping to use the app as our one and only place to view the itinerary, meeting places, tickets, and even flights. I'm finding that every time I view the app, the layout and the lack of information is overwhelming me. Perhaps could we try a different way for me to view the trip so that I am not overwhelmed or miss something. I am so sorry, I know you are very enthusiastic about TERN, but I just can't connect with it it the way that I do when you send me the links and I view it that way. Maybe it's just my account? Could we check? "
It's not her account, it's factual. The documents, the layout, the formatting to draw attention to specific things does not translate on the app for the client
Thank you TERN. I know you are working over time and it is not taking for granted! I am so so so thankful for all you do. ++

I have been testing out the client app too for my personal account and agree with many of the comments - I'm almost hesitant to encourage my clients to use the App until it is improved.
- Tables are stripped of all formatting in the app, this means that much of the itinerary information makes no sense to my clients
- Some images are seemingly removed entirely from the app view in the description content
- Ampersands do not format correctly - the old & takes over
In general it's not a very user-friendly or engaging experience. I think this is my most disappointing find in Tern so far to tell the truth. Though, as with all things Tern - I'm confident that this will eventually be amazing!

Multiple text colors in app.

Acid green Tortoise
I use different text colors to help important items stand out to clients - such as addresses in one color or a note to view an attached voucher in another. It is great within the online itinerary, but in the app the text is just black - and clients are missing important information this way. I would LOVE to have the color show up in the app as well!

What a client sees in/on Tern Mobile is not always how it looks on a tablet or computer.

BLUF: What a client sees in/on Tern Mobile is not always how it looks on a tablet or computer.
I created many items as Itinerary Templates that contain Tables, which make the preview of the items look very polished, clean, and well-presented. This is not the case in the mobile app when viewing the same activity as a client. The mobile app strips away the tables and simply lists the items from each heading grouped together, then does the same for the second column, and for the third column (which I think I have for only one Activity). This makes for a very dissatisfying client experience, in my opinion. I am happy to provide examples to the engineering team.
As I wrote the email to my host agency; "What a client sees in Tern on a mobile device is not always how it looks on a tablet or how it looks on a computer. Over the course of the last few days I spent a bit of time creating documents we provide clients. I am quite pleased as to how they look on a computer and tablet, but on a mobile device it looks like garbage.
Some of the issues I noted are:"
- Font Colors: On the iPhone, the font colors did not carry over to the Tern App. I color code certain items of particular interest for clients.
- Missing Tables: The tables that were created are completely gone in the Tern App and pretty much make the information unreadable and indecipherable. I thought if I rotated my device it would render the image/table properly....not at all. The table is completely gone.
- Line Spacing Issues: There are extra lines or lines lost from the original Tern Activity to the Tern App rendering
- Again, Tables that were built into the Resort Room categories were missings in the mobile app. the information was there, just listed as a list of words with no context as to why the words are there.
- I would love the ability to size an image once dropped into the Activity Description. Some images are very large and just need scaling a little, and in order to do that it seems like a chore at times. Simply, more functionality in the Text Editor would be fantastic.
I am trying to make the Client Experience as easy as possible; without requiring them to open a bunch of other documents to view the most relevant information at a point in time. At this point, I either have to remove the table from the Activity Templates and rewrite as linear sentences/bullets, or upload additional documents for the client to view.

Line Break Removed on App

Correct Meerkat
See screenshots attached. On the web itinerary, the line break is present. On the app, the spacing is removed, and the text is mashed together into one line.

It used to which is why I'm so confused. I used the Tern app back in June with myself and daughter as clients to test it out for our trip to NYC. The photos were there on the opening screen just like the preview version online, including Learn More etc. This was one of the reasons I signed onto Tern from TJ. Now it's just text and is unappealing to look at. I won't be referring my clients to the app over just clicking the link in email to take them to the website if this is what the app is going to look like from now on. I have no idea when they made this change or get why they did.

App view needs to be more specific on the overview.
R
Recent Grasshopper
Like the desktop preview is easy to understand and look at. Not just "2 activites" and then you have to click to see. The overview should have pictures and better information shown.
