Basic Economy on flights has been a known problem creator for many advisors. In fact, it has been highly suggested that we stay clear of that category because of the issues that it creates. For example: a passenger on Basic Economy has ZERO benefits from the fare (aside from it is as cheap as it gets) and has ZERO recourse in the event of a change, cancellation, missed flight, etc. Even with travel insurance, they have ZERO recourse or protection against losing their paid fare. The airline is not obligated to go out of their way and get your passenger to their destination either.

Heliotrope purple Macaw thank you for your advice but it is not necessary nor was it asked for. I have owned my agency for 13 years and fly basic economy international all of the time and travel with a carry on only as do many of our clients. Basic economy and “spirit” are very different things. We do not book low cost airlines but we do book basic economy based on the budget and baggage needs of our clients. In regards to your comments on fare and insurance, you are 100% incorrect. Travel insurance does in fact cover basic economy all the way down to those low cost airlines. I’d recommend you call an insurance agency (we are one) and reeducate yourself on the ins and outs

So many airlines use different terminology for their fare classes. It would definitely be nice to have customizable fields for this, so Advisors only have the classes we need.

more customizable fields in general would be great!! another one I've mentioned is being able to add our own additional relationship types under contact profiles
