Automatically assign trip status

I'd love to be able to add automation to my workflows that automatically assigns a trip status based on an event/action occurring. For example, when the trip is marked fully paid on all activities, allow me to move to a trip status, "Paid in Full". When the client begins traveling, automatically move the client to "Client Departed" and when the trip ends, move the client to "Client Returned".

Please make the trip status change by date automatically. For instance if the trip start date is April 3, then on April 3 the trip should automatically change to traveling. When the end date is April 10, then on April 11 it should change to traveled.
